Although the Big Twelve Conference was officially created in 1994, its roots go back much further to 1907, the year in which the Big Eight Conference was formed. After many schools came and went, the Big Eight reached its final form in 1958: Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
In 1994, the Big Eight Conference merged with four Texas schools from the defunct Southwest Conference to form the Big Twelve.
The Big Twelve:
North:
Colorado Buffaloes
Iowa State Cyclones
Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas State Wildcats
Missouri Tigers
Nebraska Cornhuskers
South:
Baylor Bears
Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Texas Longhorns
Texas A & M Aggies
Texas Tech Raiders
Big Twelve schools hold 187 national titles in team sports, including 18 in football, 49 in wrestling and 10 in baseball.
Now you can bring the Big Ten’s tradition of athletic excellence to your home with J & O’s college team prints.
