Celebrate Love, The Heart, And National Go Red Day!

jandofabricsThis Friday (February 7 2014) is National Go Red Day, a day dedicated to the education and prevention of heart disease. And with heart disease still continuing to be the number one killer of Americans overall and women in particular, the need for us to take better care of our beating organ is the order of the day, year, and rest of our life. From proper diet and excersize, to sufficient rest and room for play, it is often the little things when applied overall that can make  the biggest difference and bring about the most profound change.

Ironically, only a few weeks later the nation will celebrate the often stress producing and emotionally charged day marketed to the expression and appreciation of another heart felt occasion, Valentine’s Day. Considered both healer and killer of the heart, LOVE…or the illusion of  it, will display herself in a million and one discerning ways in order to remind, proclaim, foolishly satisfy or selfishly gain the affections of its target… another heart.

Yes….love, like the heart it is housed in, is both in search and in need of love today for the benefit of not only the individual, but the whole human race. The kind of love that expensive medicines can’t buy and white coated doctors can’t write prescriptions for. The kind of love that is FREE and in endless supply. That’s the remedy for our hearts’ imbalances masked as hypertension and the like. Self -Love, Unconditional Love, Universal Love, Enduring Love, Heart-Felt Love, Spirit-filled Love, Forgiving Love, Righteous Love.

So this Friday, as you don your red in honor of the heart’s symbolic color, and educate on her preventive care alongside other passionate advocates, take a moment to laugh a little harder, breath a little deeper, and remind the person in the mirror that you love them in a way  you never have before. Then watch the healing begin!!
