Five Minute Sewing Projects

Let’s be honest, if you’re like me you love to craft, but you might be scratching your head wondering where you will get the time? Our days are filled with work, cleaning, kid’s activities, cooking, and more work. It seems like finding a breather to sit down and sew can be far and few between. However, this year, I have determined that one of my resolutions is to sew more and stress less! I find that sewing is a great stress reliever and when I’m happy everyone else merrily goes about their day. So, even if all I can fit in is five minutes of sewing there are some pretty cool projects that can be turned out in that amount of time. Here are some fabric suggestions along with links to some soul-soothing five minute sewing projects.

Kid’s Hanukkah Fabric Decorations

J&O Happy Hanukkah

As an only child, I grew up in a household where every craft that I ever made was kept and treasured. This is especially true for the holiday decorations that I crafted. Every year, my mother hangs up the little felt wreath I decorated in the fourth grade. I often give her a hard time about it and remind her that I am now an adult so she should probably stop putting it up. However, the truth is, I love that she has kept it all of these years and still thinks to put it in a prominent place during the holidays. Help your kids create their own memories with these Hanukkah kid’s crafts.

Pets are much more than the fuzzy things that keep our feet warm in bed at night, they are members of the family! As such, they should be able to participate in one of most exciting days of the year: Halloween. Here are some pictures of fantastic home made dog costumes to inspire those of you who are so inclined to dress up your pooches for the holiday. Our favorite costume (paws down) is the Raggedy Ann Dog. The hand-made jumper made with flower novelty fabric is beautifully done!

The only thing scarier than the witches and goblins that appear on the streets during the Halloween season is how fast October 31st is approaching! Between getting kids settled at school and everyone returning from summer vacations to buckle down at work, this month promises to be a hectic one. In order to create an adorable costume in no time (and with minimal cash), we collected these down and dirty ideas that require nothing but colorful felt, a headband, a glue gun, and clothes that you already own.
