Getting close friends gifts can be tricky. You want to let them know that you put some real thought into their present without going too overboard. These letters are a perfect juncture between those two points. You can personalize everything about them from the type of letter you choose to the infinite number of fabric combinations that you can mix and match to create the perfect personalized gift.

Required Materials:
- Your choice of fabric
- Wooden letters (these can be found at most craft stores)
- Fabric glue
- Scissors (smaller fabric scissors are best)
- A flexible tape measure
- A pen (avoid Sharpies if the ink will bleed through the fabric)
Step 1: Trace the outline of the letter onto your fabric of choice.

Step 2: Cut out the outline.

Step 3: Glue the outline to the wooden letter.

Step 4: Trim off excess. I highly recommend that if you have smaller fabric scissors you use them during this step. It makes it much easier.

Step 5: Measure the outline of the letter. This does not have to be an exact measurement. Give yourself a little extra wiggle room.

Step 6: Cut off your previously measured fabric strip. When I did my letter, I layered lace over it so I cut out both and then glued lace to the top of my base fabric using the fabric glue.

Step 7: Glue your fabric strip to the perimeter of your letter. This is the view of the unfinished back of the letter

Step 8: Trim off excess.

Step 9: Enjoy your finished product!

This project can get a little time consuming because of the time that it takes for the glue to dry, but the finished product is worth the effort. These letter are perfect for showers, birthday gifts, or even just as a surprise to let someone know you have been thinking of them.
