These fabric bookmarks are a breeze
You will need:
• Fabric. I recommend multiple prints to add interest and contrast or our NFL fabric for the sports fans!
• Random buttons
• Complementary or contrasting thread
• Rectangle to trace (or draw one)
• Thin cardboard for center
Use a contrasting fabric on the backside, essentially creating a reversible bookmark
What to do:
• Cut out 2 rectangles (Pro-tip: Use 2 different fabrics to make each side of the bookmark different!)
• Sew sides together ¼” SA, leaving a short end open to stuff
• Turn right side out, stuff with cardboard or interfacing, sew closed
• Decorate with ribbon, fabric swatches and buttons!
Layer a paper cut-out over your fabric for the above effect
No Sew alternative instructions:
• Use hot glue to secure fabric to a sturdy rectangle (cardboard, paper board, even popsicle sticks!)
• Repeat process. Decorate a dozen differently and send your student to school with style.
Cute as a button
Yet another use for those fabulous fabric flowers!
