Feeling the Felt

Felt is the ultimate craft fabric!  It’s bright, colorful, and extremely versatile.  It is not delicate like many fabrics.  Its stiffness allows you to mold it with ease, and the fibers don’t fray when you cut it.  100% acrylic felt is totally machine washable.

This fabric is a lot of fun for the kids with it’s rainbow colors and it really excites the imagination.  Glue it, cut it, paint it sew it… really get creative.  You can make fun things for the kids or cheerful and useful things for the home.  There is no shortage of projects that can be made with felt.

Love is in the details, and this is never more true than when it comes to fashion.  It can be something as small as buttons that will have you saying “Ooooooh, that’s so cuuuuute!!!”  If you take the time to sew your own garments, you clearly want to make a statement.  Otherwise, you can just pull something off the rack at your local Big Box store and save yourself a lot of trouble… right?

You don’t need expert sewing skills or costly rhinestone trim.  There are all kinds of easy-to-make embellishment that will deliver the “Wow!” factor.

Oh, Martha.  So many love to hate you.  The reasons vary.  Your impeccable (impossible?) standards.  That whole thing with the investment scandal and your, ummm… time away.  We won’t go into that.  I mean, if a MAN does it he’s just handling his business, but a WOMAN?  Again… we won’t go into that.

Love you, hate you.  Whatever.  It’s not stopping your back to back cable shows.  Or the radio shows.  Or the magazines.  Or the books.  In 1993 you came into our living rooms, and you haven’t left.

Wall Street sharks, fashion models, stay-at-home moms… they all have one wardrobe common denominator.  It’s one thing that everyone has in their drawers or closets regardless of income level or where they’re from.  Jeans are just about the easiest, most comfortable thing you can wear and still look pulled together.  Denim fabric is soft, durable, easy to care for, forgiving, and good-looking.  What more could you want?  It’s not just great for jeans, though.
