Decorating is fun, but it can also be time consuming. You could re-upholster your couch to spruce up your living room, but that’s not exactly a low-stress process if you don’t upholster for a living. The good news is that if you have an afternoon and a few yards of fabric you can entirely change the look of a room. Here’s a breakdown, room by room, of quick and easy projects.

1. Bathroom- Take the more functional pieces in your bathroom, cover them with fabric, and voila!- like new. Great items to cover in fabric are toothbrush holders and canisters for things like cotton balls and swabs.

2. Kitchen- Why not embroider some tea towels? A sewing machine with an embroidery function makes this a snap, or you can embroider something simple by hand.

3. Dining room- Table runners are ridiculously simple, but easier and faster than tablecloths. Runners are great pieces to switch out with the throughout the year because it’s small enough not to throw off the design scheme for a room but noticeable enough to broadcast the season.

4. Living room- Everybody thinks of pillows, but why stop there? A great way to showcase gorgeous fabric is to frame it. Mix and match sizes and prints, just keep them all in the same color family.
