From its very beginning, the California-based Angels have been associated with the glitz of Hollywood; the team's first owner was none other than movie and recording star Gene Autry, who also named the team the Los Angeles Angels.

By 1966 the Angels had grown tired of sharing a stadium with the Los Angeles Dodgers and had moved to Anaheim. At this point the team name was changed to the California Angels.

After enduring a few more mediocre seasons the Angels began to bring in fresh talent, including power pitcher Nolan Ryan. Together with a formidable lineup that included Don Baylor and Rod Carew, the Angels finally reached the playoffs for the first time in 1979, where they lost to the Baltimore Orioles.

In the following decade the Angels twice flirted with the World Series. In 1982 the Angels took a 2 games to 0 lead in the American League Championship Series (ALCS), but then lost three straight games to the Milwaukee Brewers.

In 1986 the Angels were again tantalizingly close to the World Series.  In the 9th inning of game five, the Angels held a 5-2 lead, and led the ALCS 3 games to 1.  Unfortunately, the Angels unraveled in the 9th inning and went on to lose game 5. After the demoralizing loss, the Angels lost the following two games to squander another chance at the World Series.

The Angels infally made their long-awaited World Series appearance in  2002 in what would prove to be a thrilling series. Facing off against the San Francisco Giants of Barry Bonds, the two teams played the highest scoring World Series in history. Ultimately the Angels prevailed with a 4-1 victory in game 7 of the series to win the franchise's first World Series title.

The design of the Anaheim Angels MLB Fleece: Red consists of the team's logos and baseballs over a red background.

Anaheim Angels MLB Fleece: Red is a great polar fleece fabric to use for quilts, shirts, jackets, coat linings, carrying bags, bed sheets, bedspreads, blankets, pet clothing and more.

Anaheim Angels MLB Fleece: Red is soft, it dries quickly and it still insulates when wet. Since it is also lightweight, you’ll perspire less when active, making this MLB fleece the perfect fabric for winter sports. Hats, gloves, linings, robes and slippers are other ideal uses for the Anaheim Angels MLB Fleece: Red.
