Lining is an essential part in any drapery project, and our 100% polyester and poly-cotton linings are the finest available. At 54 inches these drapery lining fabrics are wide enough to accommodate your design ideas.
The benefits of using drapery lining are many. Drapery lining improves the way your drapery fabrics drape by providing a fuller and unwrinkled effect. Furthermore, drapery lining protects your drapery fabrics from sun and moisture damage.
In addition to our regular lining fabrics, we carry two specialty linings for both residential and commercial use:
Blackout Lining
Blackout lining starts off with a base poly-cotton cloth that is given various coatings of an acrylic foam, one of which is an opaque layer. White Blackout Drapery Lining contributes to improved insulation, ultraviolet light blockage and noise reduction.
Thermal Lining
Thermal Lining is intended to help control the climate of a room; the layer of acrylic foam it is covered with allows it to keep rooms warm in winter and cool in summer. Thus your heating and air conditioning are made more efficient by the use of this lining. This thermal lining fabric has a suede-like feel on one side.
Caring for Your Drapery Lining Fabrics
Drapery lining should never be machine washed. It is best to have these fabrics dry cleaned. You can also hand wash these fabrics with mild soap and cool water, then allow them to line dry.
How to Store Your Drapery Lining Fabrics
The best areas for storing your drapery lining fabrics are those that are out of direct sunlight, dry and have good air circulation. Also, avoid using areas that are susceptible to mold, mildew, damp and critters.
In order to protect your curtains from the sun and other elements, you'll find just the right drapery lining here at J & O Fabrics!
