The Charlotte Bobcats joined the NBA in 2004, replacing the
departed Hornets. Although they are currently experiencing the vagaries of being
an expansion team, the Charlotte Bobcats are steadily improving. Throughout
their first three seasons, their record has improved yearly:
2004-05: 18 W-64 L
2005-06: 26 W-56 L
2006-07: 33 W-49 L
Despite their struggles, the Bobcats seem to be building a
solid foundation for the future. Among their key players are center Emeka Okafor,
small forward Gerald Wallace, point guard Raymond Felton, power forward Sean May
and small forward Adam Morrison.
One of the most prominent members of the Charlotte Bobcats
organization is not a player, however, but a member of the front office. On June
15, 2006 Michael Jordan became part owner of the Bobcats and was appointed
Managing Member of Basketball Operations.
The design of the Charlotte Bobcats novelty fabric consists
of orange and indigo squares. Within the squares are jerseys, basketballs and the
Bobcats' logo.
