Sports teams in the SEC are tried by fire in one of the
toughest college athletics conferences in the nation. Few programs have been better refined
than the University of Florida Gators.
In football, the Florida Gators participate in famous
rivalries with the Florida State Seminoles, the Georgia Bulldogs and the
Tennessee Volunteers. The Florida vs. Georgia game has come to be known as "The
World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party", a series that Georgia currently leads.

Under the guidance of coach Billy Donovan, the Florida Gators
basketball squad has come to rival the football team in prominence. Since
Donovan became coach of the Gators in 1996, they have been to three Final Fours,
two of these trips resulting in national championships.
