If you love the look of modern decor, the pioneering
modernist industrial designs of Charles and Ray Eames will appeal to you. The
Eames's iconic textile designs translated abstract art into useful, everyday
Crosspatch Document is a quintessentially "Eames" decorator
fabric. The Crosspatch design originated as the Eames's entry into a textile
competition held by the Museum of Modern Art in 1947. Four designs were
submitted - the other three being Dot, Small Dot and Circles - but only
Crosspatch went into production at the time.
This fantastic fabric has a vibrant and ever fresh
retro design of x's and dots within blocks. The solid blocks measure about 5/8"
x 5/8" while the outlined boxes are slightly smaller. Keep in mind that the
block sizes vary. The fabulous colors in Crosspatch Document include honey gold,
orange sherbet, crimson and rose over a cream background.
Crosspatch Document by Charles and Ray Eames can be used to
make pillows, wall-hangings, seat cushions, slipcovers, table covers, draperies,
curtains, handbags, garments and more.
