J&O Fabrics Celebrates 100 Days in Office with President Barack Obama Cottons.

Usually we only list one fabric for the Fabric Award of the Week, but last week we got in three prints from VIP's Barack Obama cotton print collection that are really something special.

When Barack Obama first became elected as the 44th President of the United States back in January of this year, the printed fleece carrying his blazoned image in commemoration of his triumphant and historic win, sold out in a matter of minutes in many fabric stores across the country including ours. And as we placed orders for more, our customers demands for cotton prints as well as the fleece grew. A few weeks later, the mills started printing the cottons, and our customers couldn't be happier.

As of this moment we have three assorted cotton prints featuring our first African American president as he took his journey to the White House. With images and captions that reflect a man with a dream and a mission shared by many longing for a change, our Barack Obama collection is a must have for any American quilter or crafter inspired by his vision.

April 29, 2009 marks President Barack Obama's 100th day in office. What more fitting an award to mark such a milestone.

J&O, Michelle Obama, Jashon Wu & YOU!

January 20, 2009 will go down in U.S. fashion history not only as the day the first African-American stood before millions to take his official oath of office at the 44th President of the United States, but also as the day his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, took her silent and UN-official oath to represent savvy diva style for all the smart, elegant, feminine, yet powerful women of the seasoned bunch.

If you were brave enough to weather the cold and stand in the melting pot of many to catch a firsthand glimpse of the Inauguration ceremonies and celebrations, then you probably couldn't help but be taken back to the days of the Kennedy's and the fashions inspired by then First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

Donned in a simple yet sophisticated lemongrass sheath made of Swiss wool with an overlay of lace, Michelle was a symbol of warmth and optimism as she took her rightful place beside her man. Backed with netting for warmth, and lined with pashmina and french silk, the First Lady appeared stylishly comfortable and confident despite the biting cold and arduous schedule of events of the day.

Later that night at the Neighbor's Ball, Michelle would be swept off her feet by her knight in shining armor as the two affectionate lovebirds joined hands on the dance floor to Beyonce's "At Last". Draped in an ivory colored one shoulder floor length Jason Wu original made with silk chiffon and embellished with hundreds of Swarovski crystals and fabric petals, the First Lady reflected purity and hope as the majority of Americans watched this time, not from the wintery streets of Washington D.C., but from the comforts of their living rooms, bar stools, churches and gathering places; all in support of the handsome White House couple on their monitors and TV screens.

To create your own elegant look, search no further than J&O Fabrics. With hundreds of dress fabrics to choose from and a plethora of designs to express the uniqueness that is you, J&O Fabrics is your #1 source for the perfect fabric to bring out the beautiful Lady in you!

They say every man is born with a purpose, and from an early age, the unseen hand of purpose was upon Barack Obama; molding and shaping him, guiding him into and throughout his political career until his purpose met with victory at the 2008 presidential elections. A victory meant for him at this place and this time in the evolution of mankind. A purpose no more and no less than the little girl who grows up to become a successful actress or the little boy who becomes a starving artist. That all three honored their respective purposes is the dream most wish and strive to fulfill.

And speaking of dreams... J&O has a dream come true just for you. For a limited time you don't have to travel all the way to Washington, D.C. to get a sight of this history making president, instead, just come over to J&O Fabrics and meet him face to face! That's right, Barack Obama is right here at J&O Fabrics just in time for you to make a special request his presence in your home, office, or as an inspirational travel companion along your journey through life. Barack Obama, a man with a vision for humanity. Barack Obama, history in the making, making history for the whole world to see.

Our 44th President summed it up best during his speech following the Super Tuesday results in February 08' when he said simply, " We are the ones we have been waiting for."

We all have a purpose, a part to play in this thing called life. So play it to win. You never know where it will lead you.
