Glow-in-the-Dark Patchwork Pumpkins!

Autumn crafts seem to get more creative every year, and Glow-in-the-Dark Patchwork Pumpkins are one of the most whimsical decorations we’ve seen!  This beautiful patchwork pumpkin will make a lovely seasonal centerpiece for your dining table, a lovely front-porch statement, or a beautiful and appropriate decoration pretty much anywhere you choose to put it. Unless you put a face on it, in fact, Patchwork Pumpkins are excellent decorations throughout the entire Fall season, not merely for a few days in October!

To create your very own Patchwork Pumpkin, follow J&O Fabric Stores steps below.

1. Begin with a pumpkin – any shape or size.
Use a real pumpkin or any kind of artificial pumpkin; the process is the same regardless.

2. Cover your pumpkin with white glue, and start arranging your patchwork pieces on it.  Use a design, or just stick the fabric onto the pumpkin in any way, creating a “crazy quilt” effect.

Keep gluing and adding fabric until the entire pumpkin is covered.

To take your pumpkin to the next and glowing level, follow these additional steps.

3. Spray clear adhesive all over your pumpkin

4. Using Glow Powder (works best if you put into a shaker), dust the powder over your pumpkin

Remember, of you plan to use your patchwork pumpkin indoors, do not use the glow-in-the-dark substances to decorate.

Patchwork is a lovely and creative way to use up your fabric scraps. Or check out new Halloween Fabric from J&O Fabrics, to give your patchwork pumpkin a spooky theme.
