Design Your Own Fabric!

So you’ve been on our site and looked at 1, 10 or maybe even 100 prints from our vast array of assorted fabrics. You’ve seen some you liked, some you loved and some you could do without. And more than likely, somewhere in between our novelties and decorative fabrics, you caught yourself picturing what a print from the wells of your creative imagination would look like.

Maybe you have a little girl who is turning five, and for her birthday she tells you that she wants to be an astronaut when she grows up. You go out and buy the glow-in -the-dark stars and a mystical space sounds tape to make her night life more adventurous. You collect globes, spaceships and Star Trek figurines in hopes to nurture her passion (until a new one comes along a six), but what she really wants is an image of a little girl that looks like her, steering that infamous space shuttle into the unknown galaxy of ‘Little Hannah’. So you search for the perfect fabric to make the curtains and bedding that would send your girl to the moon with excitement, only to find your search is in vain.

In disappointment you shut down your computer, put away the phone book and call off the search; wishing that a magic Genie would come along with the exact print image, in the exact favorite colors and the exact weight that you want so desperately. And while the he is at it, maybe he can create a printed fabric bearing all the characteristics and personality traits of a 1942 Pisces as well. I mean, that was the year you were born, and everyone knows Pisces are the best Zodiac sign of them all.

Well, your wish is our command!

If you could wish for 3 unique-one-of-a-kind-nobody-has-a-more-creative-imagination-than-you prints, what would they be? Hot Latina Pin-up Girls, TV shows from the 70’s, Tabby Cats and Hound Dogs playing cards? You can see some patterns like this in our Retro Fabric section.

We’d like to hear from you, so email us back or reply to this post with your crazy and not so crazy print ideas…you never know what wishes the J&O Genie may grant you!
If you want to see some fun fabrics to get your creative mind going check out our quilting fabrics and decorative fabrics.

I love geometric Damasks and lattice prints, but they are always only two colors; lime green and aqua blue, red and purple etc. You rarely see a print with these four colors together. if you do it's some formal floral. I would love to see something where one kind of over-lays the other... for example: a green lattice on white background with splashes of damask shapes in mixes of purple and red green and aqua... and where they take turns being on top of the layer...

The nightmare before christmas is a licensed design and you would need to get approval from the artist before trying to get this pattern made. It is an excellent suggestion and if more people would like this design then it would be a great pattern to move forward with.

Thanks for your input!!!

Just an idea now with the internet being vastly popular and people being able to create custom ties, pillows and other objects from images they upload maybe you could get a online tool to add to your site where people could create from images what they want? check out www.zazzle.com to see what I am talking about I guess because other then printed t-shirts you can make ties just from an image and i'm wondering if you can do the same with other fabrics then it would be awesome to let your customers use thier creativity even more

I own a winery and my mother makes quilted purses. For the life of me, I can't find a cute, girly fabric with wine glasses - I'm picturing something with a black, pink or white background with cute wine glasses and maybe other wine related things that with maybe a cute wine saying here or there...ya know, something that twenty-something girls would like...
