| The art of Sewing Some people say sewing is a dying art. We here at J and O say it's all relative.
Working in a fabric store you see a lot of people who love to sew. For many people sewing is truly an art form, an expression of their creativity. Fabric itself can become sort of an addiction. Especially for those who love the intense feeling of pride that comes with creating a precious little baby blanket or a posh new pocketbook. Every new fabric seen, becomes a new idea about what can be made from that little piece of cloth. It may even become a unique challenge to use scraps of left over material from an old stash and make something new and wonderful. Little pieces of fabric can help us teach little hands how to sew. There is nothing better than seeing a child's eyes light up when they have made something on their own. Like a tiny little change purse or a shoulder bag to carry their allowance in.
From Upholstery fabric to quilting fabrics it is limitless on what you can make. We have over 4,000 novelty fabrics to choose from. Our quilting fabrics range from Dog and Cat fabrics to Elvis, Cars, Airplanes, Trains and Cowboy and Cowgirls fabric. Our novelty fabric section is great for quilting, along with making something special for your kids. It is limitless on what you can make with a piece of fabric.
A little girl can whip up a shirt for a kitty cat using a fun novelty print and spend hours trying to put it on!

It's an art well worth learning, and carrying on. So if you know how to sew, think about who you can teach. If you don't know how to sew maybe think about who can teach you.
It's all relative to who you know. |
