In the dead of winter nights, when the temperature is low and cold winds are blowing, only the mightiest spirits dare venture outside. Unless, of course, the kids need mil?& then you too must brave the elements on your way to the nearest convenience store. For years this caused great agony among the northern-dwelling peoples of the world.
At the beginning of the 1980’s, however, an augur of change was seen on the horizon in the form of Malden Mills. This company developed a fabric that they called Polartec Fleece. From that day on, Northerners have sneered at the cold as a mere inconvenience! Because of polar fleece, many young children have slept in peace having had their milk.
Furthermore, with the growing popularity of fleece, manufacturers recognized the need for a greater variety of styles and consumers responded. That is why we carry a wide selection of novelty fleeces at J&O Fabrics, in order to cater to our customers’ interests and preferences. After you’ve shopped our Novelty Fleece section, you’ll sneer at the cold and look good while you’re at it.
Our Novelty Polar Fleece fabrics are anti-pill and printed on both sides. Today’s fleece fabric is a high tech, high performance product that is very easy to sew.
What You Can Use Our Novelty Polar Fleeces For
Care Instructions for Our Novelty Fleeces
Novelty Polar Fleece is an excellent fabric for garments and accessories. Hats, gloves, shirts and jackets are much warmer when made with fleece. You can also make blankets, pillows and bed sheets. Robes and slippers are other items that can be made with fleece.
These 100% polyester polar fleeces can be machine washed without bleach. They can be tumble dried on low. Use a warm iron if necessary.
Storing Novelty Polar Fleece Fabrics
Before storing your novelty fleeces for an extended period of time it is important to have them properly laundered to prevent dust, soil and stains from attracting critters. Furthermore, avoid storing your fabrics in attics or basements; these places tend to be vulnerable to mold, mildew, insects and other threats. The best location in your home for storage is a cool, dry room out of direct sunlight. If using a closet, make sure there is sufficient air circulation to prevent mold growth.
Your novelty fleece fabrics can be stored in bags of linen, cotton or muslin. Do not use plastic bags, cedar chests or cardboard boxes for storage. Fumes from polyurethane foam, cedar closets and acids in unvarnished wood and cardboard can damage your fabrics. Acid free tissue paper can also be employed in the storage of your military novelty fleece fabrics.
