Imperial Tassel: 4" Category Description:
New Page 1

Trim has long been recognized as an essential accent for fashion. At one time trim was handmade and therefore indicative of the social status of those who could afford it. Once the Industrial Revolution was under way, machine weaving and sewing machines made trim more affordable. Trim thus became characteristic of Victorian fashion.

Tassels, in particular, have a long history. They are appreciated in many different countries and cultures for the flair and beauty that they add to their surroundings. Tassels were particularly appreciated in France where the art of passementerie focused on tassels, fringes and other forms of decorative trim. Such an importance was given to passementerie that only those who had completed a seven year apprenticeship could become master Passementiers.

For hundreds of years, each decorative period has found a way to incorporate tassels. Today, tassels and other types of trim continue to enjoy popularity. Garments, accessories, upholstery and draperies can be accented with the elegance of tassels and other trims.

Imperial Tassel: 4" is a type of tassel and an excellent introduction to the beauty of tassels. Although some tassels can cost hundreds of dollars, Imperial Tassel: 4" conveys the style and elegance of tassels without the exorbitant price. This tassel is part of our Deco-Pro Imperial II Collection.

Caring for Your Imperial Tassel: 4"

In general, trims are delicate; to get the most out of your Imperial Tassel: 4" fabric here are a few tips:

For regular maintenance, we recommend that you lightly brush your Imperial Tassel: 4" fabrics weekly to guard against the accumulation of dust and soil and to prevent dirt from becoming embedded between the fibers.

Dyes, corrosives, acids, paints, inks, nail polish and chemical-based removers should not be used in the vicinity of your accent tassel or any upholstery fabric.

Storing Your Imperial Tassel: 4"

For storage, as always we recommend a place out of direct sunlight with good air circulation. Areas that are less susceptible to mold, mildew and insects are obviously ideal.
